Magformers at The Toy Fair 2017 in London, UK

Magformers recently attended the London Toy Fair at Olympia and staged a 'Battle Of The Ninjas' event — where the UK went head to head with Korea to see who could build a 26-sided rhombicuboctahedron in the quickest time.

On day one, UK demonstration manager Matt Donald’s best time over three attempts was trumped by Taylor Kang — our international demonstration manager – who recorded a personal best time of a stunning 12.63 seconds to take the honours.

That gave Matt some work to do and on day two and three of the show he bounced back winning both sessions to take the overall battle 2-1. His best time of 14.12 seconds was marginally outside of his own PB, but good enough to take the title.

The Battle Of The Ninjas event proved a big hit and was televised live on Toy Fair TV with well-known kids TV presenter Gav Inskip at the helm. Gav also tried his hand at speed building but confessed afterwards he needed to «go home and practise».

Magformers was also delighted when our new Neon LED Lighted Set picked up a prestigious 'Best New Toy Award' from the British Toy and Hobby Association. The set, available this year, was one of just 43 toys selected by the BTHA as winners.

Magformers’ 60-square-meter stand was busy over all three days of the Toy Fair with visitors from independent and national retailers, with UK managing director, David Kelly, commenting: "We’re delighted with the response to Magformers in only our second year of attending the London Toy Fair and to pick up a Best New Toy award was really the icing on the cake."
